Denise Martinez and Jorge Arturo Ibarra founded Deceres in 2020. Both grew up in Baja California and met in Southern California, where they worked before establishing their studio. The practice now operates between Mexico City and California.

The studio makes furniture and objects using monolithic forms, sharp angles, and minimal ornamentation. The work draws from religious architecture and ancient structures, filtered through a reductive contemporary lens. Martinez and Ibarra translate these references into functional pieces: chairs, tables, storage, lighting.

Deceres collaborates with artisans in Mexico and California. Each piece is handcrafted, with variations that come from manual production. The furniture carries visual presence without competing for attention in a space.
