Look Mum no UV!
A Chair Held by Belts
Date
September 1, 2025
Madrid-based studio Oficina Penadés designed Look Mum no UV! for The Future Perfect, a gallery project that asked designers and artists to imagine a single chair with no rules attached.
This chair doesn’t rely on screws, nails, or glue. Instead, its panels are held together entirely by industrial belts. The system is simple but striking — tension replaces hardware, turning the structure itself into a kind of visual performance.
The project sits between art and design. On one hand, it functions as a chair. On the other, it feels like an experiment in how little is needed to hold form together. By stripping away familiar fasteners, Look Mum no UV! asks us to notice the act of assembly as much as the finished object.
The piece is part of The Future Perfect’s collection of one-of-a-kind chairs, each revealing how an ordinary object can become a canvas for imagination.
